Trio Cordiera was established in 2016, bringing together three prize-winning young musicians: Antoine Préat (Piano, France) Hatty Haynes (Violin, UK) and Eliza Millett (Cello, UK). The trio is composed of scholars from the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and they are thrilled to be Artists in Residence at Britten Pears for 2022-2023, under the mentorship of Alasdair Beatson.
Trio Cordiera have developed a keen interest in Historical Performance and the members regularly perform on period instruments. They will bring this passion to the fore in Haydn’s stormy E minor Piano Trio, which will be followed by Beethoven’s Piano Trio op.70 no.2 in E flat major, often heralded as one of Beethoven’s most lovable yet subtle chamber works. The programme will conclude with Brahms’ epic 2nd Trio in C major, which was written in the later part of his life alongside his 3 Violin Sonatas and third Piano Trio in c minor.
